Above, the celestial silver of the far-off sun glistened off of her innumerable scales; below, darkness seeped from the center of the continent, rolling in waves over peasants and nobles alike. No! She flew so fast, the clouds below her whipped into a whirlwind. Rhipodon, the black dragon, stood atop the leave-thatched roof of the city hall. He uttered a guttural screech and breathed black fire onto the fleeing villagers. Shadow seeped from the mouth of a laughing human skull he wore around his neck, like a pendant. “Miss me?” Rhipodon said. Strata attacked.
